Golden Knights lose F Gusev to KHL

Vegas Golden Knights forward Nikita Gusev signed a two-year contract with SKA St. Petersburg, the Kontinental Hockey League announced on Friday.

Gusev was acquired by Vegas during last month's expansion draft. The Golden Knights also picked up defenseman Jason Garrison, a 2017 second-round pick and a 2018 fourth-round pick from the Tampa Bay Lightning in that deal.

The 24-year-old Gusev was a seventh-round pick of the Lightning in 2012, but has spent his entire career playing in the KHL.

Gusev collected 24 goals and 47 assists in 57 games with SKA St. Petersburg last season. He played on line with Golden Knights center Vadim Shipachyov.
