Hi, I’m Frankie the Fan. They told me I was supposed to make a bio, so here we go. I was born in 1962 in Queens, NY. I grew up loving the Mets, Rangers, Nets, and my favorite team the Giants. I was an all-around athlete and wanted to make it as an athlete. Unfortunately I was a perfectionist also, so of course I turned pro in the one sport that I sucked the most at, which was tennis.
After wasting my time for quite a few years trying to make it in tennis, losing in the satellites, chasing women in Spain and doing mushrooms in Amsterdam, I finally used my A.A. degree in Tennis and Business from Tyler Jr. College and became a successful Head Pro in N.Y. and am a USPTA member since 88.
I got in a lot of street fights and got arrested a few times for stupid stuff, then I saw the movie “Road House” and said “Hey, tough guys can be smart too,” so I got a B.A. in Psychology from Long Beach State. That wasn’t good enough however, so I stopped playing and teaching and decided to become a Day Trader. That was fun as anything, but I didn’t sleep from 97-99 so I dumped my girlfriend, and started realizing she was not the one and needed a change and moved to Costa Rica.
At a time, when I wasn’t drunk or chasing girls, I remembered another movie called “Rounders” in which the Old Jewish guy said to Matt Damon, “We don’t choose our destiny, our destiny chooses us.” So I realized that I grew up betting on horses when I was a child and taking parlay cards when I was in High School, so my destiny is to become a bookie. So I did that and have been a bookie, poker player, bettor and writer here in Costa Rica for the past 15 years.
