Several teams at the top of our rankings faltered this week and the Celtics are now #1. Boston had a perfect week (2-0 SU / 2-0 ATS) with wins against Miami (112-93) and Denver (108-95).

The Lakers also shot up the rankings after a perfect week (4-0 SU / 4-0 ATS) and the Bucks who have the longest active winning streak (14) went 3-0 ATS this week to make up some ground.

•    Favorites (Dec 2nd-8th): 34-16 SU and 30-20 ATS (Season: 241-101 SU and 167-169-6 ATS)
•    Home Teams (Dec 2nd-8th): 25-25 SU and 23-27 ATS (Season: 200-142 SU and 173-163-6 ATS)

•    Game Totals (Dec 2nd-8th): 23 Overs and 26 Unders (Season: 162 Overs and 176 Unders)

Home dogs had a rough week, but are still covering ATS at a 52.50% rate this season.

1. Boston Celtics

NBA Future Odds: +2000
Record: 16-5 (13-6-2 ATS)
Previous Rank: 4

The Celtics have a new big three with Walker (21.8 PPG), Tatum (21.2 PPG) and Brown (20 PPG). Hayward is expected back this week too and he was averaging 18.9 PPG prior to his hand injury.

2. Miami Heat

NBA Future Odds: +2800
Record: 17-6 (14-8-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 1

The Heat went 3-1 (1-3 ATS) this week and they’re now a perfect 10-0 at home. Butler leads the team in PER (24.92) and scoring (20.6 PPG). The team also plays solid defense (105.5 PPG - 7th).

3. Oklahoma City Thunder

NBA Future Odds: +15000
Record: 10-12 (14-8 ATS)
Previous Rank: 5

OKC have won 4 of their last 5 games and they went 2-1 ATS this week. The team is scoring 108.6 PPG (21st) and there has been some improvement on that end, but I’d like to see Paul shoot more.

4. Sacramento Kings

NBA Future Odds: +15000
Record: 9-13 (14-8 ATS)
Previous Rank: 3

The Kings went 2-2 ATS this week and they’re coming off an upset win against the Mavs (110-106). Fox is going to miss 2+ weeks, but Bagley will be back soon. If they stay healthy they’ll be even better.

5. Los Angeles Lakers

NBA Future Odds: +325
Record: 21-3 (15-9 ATS)
Previous Rank: 10

The Lakers have the best road record (11-1) in the NBA. Davis (27.7 PPG and 9 RPG) is having the best season of his career. As a team, the LAL are scoring 114.5 PPG (8th) and allowing 104.6 PPG (6th).

6. Dallas Mavericks

NBA Future Odds: +2800
Record: 16-7 (14-9 ATS)
Previous Rank: 7

The Mavs went 3-1 ATS this week and continue moving up our rankings. They’re one of the highest scoring teams (118 PPG - 4th) in the league, but I fear they rely too heavily on Doncic (30 PPG).

7. Toronto Raptors

NBA Future Odds: +3000
Record: 15-7 (13-9 ATS)
Previous Rank: 2

The Raptors went 0-3 (0-3 ATS) this week with losses to MIA (121-110), HOU (119-109) and PHI (110-104). It wasn’t a good week, but with Lowry back in the lineup, look for TOR to bounce back quickly.

8. Phoenix Suns

NBA Future Odds: +15000
Record: 10-12 (13-9 ATS)
Previous Rank: 9

The Suns went 3-1 ATS this week and they continue to impress bettors. Booker (25.5 PPG) is shooting lights out (51.2 FG% / 41.5 3P%) and Ayton is back from suspension next week.

9. Washington Wizards

NBA Future Odds: +40000
Record: 7-15 (12-9-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 6

The Wizards have been trying to simply outscore opponents all season. They’re scoring 118.2 PPG (3rd), but they allow a league-worst 122.5 PPG. If they played a little DEF they’d be even better.

10. Brooklyn Nets

NBA Future Odds: +5000
Record: 13-10 (13-10 ATS)
Previous Rank: 16

The Nets had a great week (3-0 SU / 3-0 ATS) with a signature win over DEN (105-102). They’ve been winning without Irving as well who could miss another 2+ weeks with his injury.

11. Indiana Pacers

NBA Future Odds: +4000
Record: 15-8 (12-10-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 8

The Pacers went 2-2 ATS this week and they’re on an 8-2 run. Sabonis (18.4 PPG and 13.1 RPG) has had a great start to the season. The Pacers are going to be a top team in the East once Oladipo is back.

12. Los Angeles Clippers

NBA Future Odds: +300
Record: 17-7 (13-11 ATS)
Previous Rank: 12

The Clips are 2nd in the West and right where they want to be. Leonard is having his load managed and even without him in the lineup some nights, the Clips have the firepower (115.3 PPG - 5th) to win.

13. Milwaukee Bucks

NBA Future Odds: +400
Record: 20-3 (12-11 ATS)
Previous Rank: 20

The Bucks needed a good week and they got it (3-0 ATS). MIL have a +13.6 average point differential, which ranks #1 in the league. They also lead the NBA in scoring (121 PPG) and rebounding (51.8 RPG).

14. Houston Rockets

NBA Future Odds: +800
Record: 15-7 (11-11 ATS)
Previous Rank: 11

Houston are scoring 120.5 PPG (2nd) and they rank #1 in 3-pointers made (15.7 3PM). Harden leads the league in points (38.5 PPG), but the lack of depth will hurt as the season progresses.

15. Charlotte Hornets

NBA Future Odds: +30000
Record: 9-16 (12-13 ATS)
Previous Rank: 13

The Hornets had a rough week (1-3 SU / 1-3 ATS), but the roster is definitely lacking. Graham is still playing great, but he’s not a #1 option. Charlotte also lack scoring depth (105.4 PPG - 25th).

16. Philadelphia 76ers

NBA Future Odds: +650
Record: 17-7 (11-12-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 24

The 76ers are on an 8-2 run and they went 3-1 ATS this week. Embiid (21.9 PPG and 12.5 RPG) is having another strong season. I wish Simmons would assert himself more regularly on offense, though.

17. Atlanta Hawks

NBA Future Odds: +40000
Record: 6-17 (11-12 ATS)
Previous Rank: 22

The Hawks came into this week on a 10-game losing streak, but they went 2-1 (2-1 ATS) this week to move up the rankings. However, the Hawks are still allowing too many points (117.3 PPG - 28th).

18. New York Knicks

NBA Future Odds: +75000
Record: 4-19 (11-12 ATS)
Previous Rank: 17

The Knicks have the longest active losing streak at 9 games. The Knicks have failed to score 100+ points in 4 of their last 6 games. Until they put up more points (100.6 PPG - 30th), they’ll keep losing.

19. Chicago Bulls

NBA Future Odds: +40000
Record: 8-16 (11-13 ATS)
Previous Rank: 27

Chicago went 2-2 (3-1 ATS) this week, but the loss to GSW (100-98) hurts a bit. Porter remains injured and Markkanen continues to struggle. LaVine (22.3 PPG) is shooting great from deep (40.1 3P%).

20. Golden State Warriors

NBA Future Odds: +20000
Record: 5-19 (11-13 ATS)
Previous Rank: 18

GSW snapped a 4-game losing streak by defeating the Bulls. With the injuries to this team they have the worst starting LU in the NBA. Scoring (104.7 PPG - 27th) has been the biggest problem.

21. Denver Nuggets

NBA Future Odds: +1400
Record: 14-7 (9-11-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 14

The Nuggets are playing better DEF (101.9 PPG) than any other team. They’re still struggling to put up points (106.5 PPG - 23rd) and Jokic doesn’t look the same as he did last season.

22. Portland Trail Blazers

NBA Future Odds: +5000
Record: 9-15 (10-13-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 19

Portland went 1-3 (1-3 ATS) this week. The losses to the Clips and Lakers are understandable, but the loss to OKC (108-96) hurts, as Portland are trying to get back into a playoff position in the West.

23. Orlando Magic

NBA Future Odds: +12500
Record: 11-11 (9-12-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 29

The Magic went 3-0 (3-0 ATS) this week. They continue to defeat teams they should and if they can keep doing that then they may sneak into the playoffs. ORL also play great defense (102.6 PPG - 2nd).

24. Minnesota Timberwolves

NBA Future Odds: +15000
Record: 10-12 (9-12-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 15

The T-Wolves went 0-3 ATS this week and they’ve lost 4 games in a row.. KAT (25.8 PPG and 11.6 RPG) is a stud at C and he’s even shooting 42.2% on 3-pointers on nice volume (3.7 3PM / 8.7 3PA).

25. Detroit Pistons

NBA Future Odds: +25000
Record: 9-14 (9-13-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 28

Detroit are only scoring 108.7 PPG (18th) despite ranking #1 in 3P% (39.6%). DET should start shooting more 3-pointers, as they’re only averaging 31.4 3PA per game (20th).

26. Utah Jazz

NBA Future Odds: +1600
Record: 13-10 (9-14 ATS)
Previous Rank: 26

The Jazz are still among the best defensive teams in the NBA (106.1 PPG - 9th), but one problem has been the turnovers (16.5 TOPG - 27th). Nearly all the starters have been turning it over too often.

27. New Orleans Pelicans

NBA Future Odds: +17500
Record: 6-17 (9-14 ATS)
Previous Rank: 21

The Pelicans have lost 8 games in a row and all anyone cares about NOP at this point is when Zion is going to play. However, there’s still no established date on when he’s expected in the lineup.

28. Cleveland Cavaliers

NBA Future Odds: +50000
Record: 5-17 (8-13-1 ATS)
Previous Rank: 23

The Cavs went 0-3 ATS this week and they’ve now lost 6 games in a row. It looks like the team is ready to deal Love (16.1 PPG and 10.5 RPG) now and I’m interested to see where he ends up.

29. Memphis Grizzlies

NBA Future Odds: +50000
Record: 6-16 (8-14 ATS)
Previous Rank: 25

Memphis have won 1 of their last 10 games. A big problem has been the DEF (117 PPG - 26th). They can’t stop anyone and they lack the OFF (108.7 PPG - 18th) to make up for the poor defense.

30. San Antonio Spurs

NBA Future Odds: +6600
Record: 9-14 (6-17 ATS)
Previous Rank: 30

The Spurs went 2-0 (1-1 ATS) this week with wins against HOU (135-133) and SAC (105-104). This team has been a huge disappointment, but I expect them to start stringing together some wins.
