Mississippi State suspended junior guard Nick Weatherspoon for the first 10 games of the 2019-20 season.

Weatherspoon was suspended indefinitely last Feb. 16 for a violation of team rules and missed the Bulldogs' last 10 games, including a first-round loss to Liberty in the NCAA Tournament.

Mississippi State coach Ben Howland confirmed the suspension with reporters, putting Weatherspoon's earliest appearance at Dec. 22 against New Mexico State.

He played in 24 games (23 starts) last season and averaged 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

As a 2017-18 freshman, Weatherspoon started all 36 games and averaged 10.8 points 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
