1. Golden State Warriors

Odds: -189
Record: 9-1 SU, 6-4 ATS
Previous Rank: 1

The Warriors continue to cement their top spot with nine SU wins in their first 10 games. As an added bonus, they are 6-1 ATS over their last seven outings with the total going OVER in six of those games.

2. Toronto Raptors

Odds: +1600
Record: 9-1 SU, 5-5 ATS
Previous Rank: 3

Nine SU wins in 10 games speak for themselves in Toronto. The Raptors get some extra credit for covers against Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Lakers in two of their last three games.

3. Boston Celtics

Odds: +550
Record: 6-3 SU, 4-5 ATS
Previous Rank: 2

The Celtics lost a few points with Saturday’s 102-101 loss to Indiana as 3.5-point road favorites, but the main reason they dropped to third in two ATS losses in their last three games.

4. Milwaukee Bucks

Odds: +6600
Record: 8-1 SU, 6-2-1 ATS
Previous Rank: 4

The Bucks continue to keep the pressure on the two other teams from the East ahead of them with the winning betting record ATS. The total has gone OVER in seven of their first nine games.

5. Denver Nuggets

Odds: +7500
Record: 8-1 SU, 6-3 ATS
Previous Rank: 9

Denver continues to be one of the biggest surprises in the early part of the season and it continues to rise in the rankings with back-to-back covers against Cleveland at home and Utah on the road.

6. Portland Trail Blazers

Odds: +6000
Record: 7-3 SU, 7-3 ATS
Previous Rank: 11

Portland has been a model of consistency through its first 10 games. The Trail Blazers have covered in five of seven games closing as a favorite.

7. San Antonio Spurs

Odds: +6000
Record: 6-3 SU, 5-4 ATS
Previous Rank: 8

Sunday’s 117-110 loss to Orlando as 7.5-point home favorites took some of the shine away from the Spurs’ recent SU four-game winning streak while going 3-1 ATS.

8. Indiana Pacers

Odds: +8000
Record: 7-3 SU, 5-4-1 ATS
Previous Rank: 12

The Pacers could have gained some more ground in the standings with their current SU winning streak, but a 1-2-1 mark ATS in their last four games could not be ignored.

9. Houston Rockets

Odds: +750
Record: 3-5 SU, 2-6 ATS
Previous Rank: 7

The Rockets continue to slide down the rankings in the midst of an unexpected slow start. They have won their last two games as road favorites against Brooklyn and Chicago, but it is hard to ignore a 1-5 ATS record in their last six games.

10. Philadelphia 76ers

Odds: +1400
Record: 6-5 SU, 4-7 ATS
Previous Rank: 10

The 76ers inconsistency continues to impact both the play on the court and at the betting window. They are now 0-5 ATS in their first five road games.

11. Utah Jazz

Odds: +4000
Record: 4-5 SU, 4-5 ATS
Previous Rank: 5

The Jazz took a pretty steep drop this week in the midst of a three-game losing streak both SU and ATS. Two of the losses to Minnesota on the road and Memphis at home were as favorites.

12. Los Angeles Clippers

Odds: +17500
Record: 5-4 SU, 5-4 ATS
Previous Rank: 14

The Clippers have covered in all four games closing as favorites and they are 3-1 ATS in four previous home games. Road losses to Oklahoma City and Philadelphia as underdogs worked against them this week.

13. Oklahoma City Thunder

Odds: +3300
Record: 4-4 SU, 4-4 ATS
Previous Rank: 16

OKC is moving in the right direction with four SU victories in a row while covering in its last three. The Thunder have a chance to make a big move upward with their upcoming schedule.

14. Charlotte Hornets

Record: 5-5 SU, 7-3 ATS
Previous Rank: 17

Give the Hornets credit for being one of the more reliable betting teams in the NBA through their first 10 contests. They are 4-2 ATS in six games closing as favorites.

15. New Orleans Pelicans

Odds: +6600
Record: 4-5 SU, 4-5 ATS

16. Los Angeles Lakers

Odds: +1000
Record: 4-6 SU, 3-7 ATS
Previous Rank: 13

The unexpected slow start has lingered a bit too long to keep the Lakers all that high in the rankings even with the league’s best player on the roster.

17. Miami Heat

Odds: +8000
Record: 3-5 SU, 3-5ATS
Previous Rank: 15

The Heat’s encouraging start has been tempered with a three-game losing streak both SU and ATS. They remain solid on the total line with six of eight games going OVER.

18. Sacramento Kings

Odds: +40000
Record: 6-4 SU, 7-3 ATS
Previous Rank: 24

The Kings remain one of the biggest surprises so far. Sunday’s blowout loss to Milwaukee was a dose of reality following a five-game winning streak both SU and ATS.

19. Memphis Grizzlies

Odds: +25000
Record: 5-3 SU, 5-3 ATS
Previous Rank: 20

Memphis could have been higher on this week’s list, but Sunday’s 102-100 loss to Phoenix as a four-point road favorite proved to be costly to its ascent.

20. Minnesota Timberwolves

Odds: +6600
Record: 4-6 SU, 4-6 ATS
Previous Rank: 18

Minnesota is coming off road losses to Golden State and Portland both SU and ATS. This drained some of the value from two previous wins (SU and ATS) over the Lakers and Utah as a home underdog.

21. Detroit Pistons

Odds: +15000
Record: 4-4 SU, 3-5 ATS
Previous Rank: 21

Reality asset in followed a faster than expected start out of the gate. The Pistons have lost their last four games SU, but they did manage to cover against Boston on the road to save some grace.

22. Brooklyn Nets

Odds: +25000
Record: 4-6 SU, 5-5 ATS
Previous Rank: 23

Given the low expectations for the Nets, they have to be rather pleased with this start. They are good to go with as an underdog at 5-3 ATS.

23. Phoenix Suns

Odds: +20000
Record: 2-7 SU, 4-5 ATS
Previous Rank: 25

Back-to-back covers against Toronto in an SU loss and against Memphis in an SU win added some lift to the Suns on the list as part of a 3-1 record ATS in their last four games.

24. Dallas Mavericks

Odds: +15000
Record: 2-7 SU, 5-4 ATS
Previous Rank: 19

The only reason the Mavericks did not drop further in this week’s rankings in the midst of an SU six-game losing streak is a 3-3 record ATS in the six defeats.

25. Orlando Magic

Odds: +30000
Record: 3-6 SU, 4-5 ATS
Previous Rank: 28

The Magic have covered in three of their first four road games this season. They have been one the better plays on the total line with six of their first nine games staying UNDER the closing line.

26. Washington Wizards

Odds: +6600
Record: 2-7 SU, 2-7 ATS
Previous Rank: 22

The Wizards snapped a five-game skid (SU and ATS) with Sunday’s 108-95 home victory against New York as 6.5-point favorites, but their overall body of work keeps them ranked in the bottom third.

27. New York Knicks

Odds: +15000
Record: 3-7 SU, 5-3-2 ATS
Previous Rank: 26

This is another SU losing team that benefitted from its record ATS this week at 2-1-1 over its last four games. The total has stayed UNDER in three of those contests.

28. Chicago Bulls

Odds: +40000
Record: 2-8 SU, 6-4 ATS
Previous Rank: 27

The Bulls were expected to struggle this season and they have lived up to expectations with eight SU losses in their first 10 games. They made a slight jump this week at 4-1 ATS in their last five contests.

29. Atlanta Hawks

Odds: +30000
Record: 3-6 SU, 3-6 ATS
Previous Rank: 29

The Hawks snapped a four-game losing streak both SU and ATS with Saturday’s 123-118 upset against Southeast rival Miami as 5.5-point home underdogs as a plus to their overall record.

30. Cleveland Cavaliers

Odds: +20000
Record: 1-8 SU, 4-5 ATS
Previous Rank: 30

Cleveland still has the early jump on being the worst team in the NBA so far, but it should still get some credit for covering the spread in four of its first nine games.
