The Charlotte Hornets have claimed journeyman point guard Shelvin Mack off waivers from the Atlanta Hawks, the team announced Sunday.
Mack, who was waived by Atlanta on Friday, has appeared in 452 career games (56 starts) over eight NBA seasons with the Hawks, Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers.
The Hawks waived Mack one day after acquiring him from the Grizzlies for guard Tyler Dorsey.
Mack, 28, appeared in 53 games with three starts for Memphis this season, averaging 7.9 points and 3.4 assists in 22.7 minutes per game.
Mack was originally drafted in the second round (34th overall) in 2011 by the Wizards out of Butler.
