NBA Betting Trends
If you are looking for a few hot betting teams for the upcoming weekend games, a good place to look would be the Northwest Division. The Denver Nuggets are at the top of the list at 14-7 SU (12-9 ATS) with a four-game winning streak both SU and ATS. The Minnesota Timberwolves (11-11 SU, 12-10 ATS) have been able to climb back to .500 on the year with their own four-game run SU and ATS.
Staying in that division, the Portland Trail Blazers could be a good team to go against right now with a 0-5 slide ATS in their last five games while going 1-3 SU in their last four outings. The Houston Rockets join this list as well after failing to cover in their last five games and losing their last four SU. They are 9-11 SU overall with a 7-13 record ATS.
The Nuggets started their current four-game winning streak with a two-point road win against Minnesota as one-point underdogs. They also beat Oklahoma City on the road 105-98 last Saturday as six-point underdogs ahead of Tuesday night’s 117-85 romp over the Los Angeles Lakers as three-point home favorites. The total has stayed UNDER in Denver’s last five games.
Portland’s fast start out of the gate has swung the other direction with just three SU wins in its last eight outings while going a dismal 1-7 ATS. The Trail Blazers (13-8 SU, 11-10 ATS) come into Friday night’s division clash off a much-needed 115-112 victory at home against Orlando, but they could not cover as 10-point favorites. The total has gone OVER in five of their last six contests.
Boston continues to look for consistency in its surprising 11-10 SU start with a costly 8-13 record ATS. The Celtics are 6-7 SU on the road with a 4-9 record ATS. They were able to win two of three games SU and ATS in a recent three-game road trip heading into Friday night’s home game against Cleveland. The total has gone OVER in four of Boston’s last five games.
Following that tight loss to Denver on Nov. 21, Minnesota started its current four-game run (SU and ATS) with a 112-102 road win against Brooklyn as a two-point favorite. The T-Wolves kicked off their current four-game homestand with a 128-89 romp over San Antonio on Wednesday night as 4.5-point favorites. They are 9-3 SU at home this season with an 8-4 record ATS.
Sunday- Memphis at Philadelphia (6 p.m.)
The surprising Grizzlies are 12-8 both SU and ATS in their first 20 games, but they bring a three-game losing streak (SU and ATS) into Friday’s road game against Brooklyn ahead of Sunday’s trip to Philadelphia. Memphis is an even 5-5 SU and ATS in 10 previous road games this season with the total going OVER in three of its last four games on the road.
The 76ers have won seven of their last 10 games SU with Wednesday’s 117-91 victory against New York as 12.5-point home favorites. They are now 15-8 SU (9-14 ATS) overall on the strength of an 11-1 SU (6-6 ATS) record at home this season. This was the first time Philly covered the number in its last five games. It was also the first time the total stayed UNDER in its last seven contests.
