Timberwolves G Malik Beasley (hamstring) out 4-6 weeks

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a grade 3 left hamstring injury, the team announced Monday.

An MRI on Monday confirmed the extent of the injury and he will reevaluated in three weeks.

He missed the Timberwolves' 122-113 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday due to soreness in the hamstring.

Beasley, 24, is averaging 19.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 37 games (36 starts) this year. He is shooting 39.9 percent from 3-point distance.

He served a 12-game league suspension earlier this season after pleading guilty to a felony charge of threatening a family with a rifle.

The incident occurred on Sept. 26, 2020, when a couple and their 13-year-old child stopped in front of Beasley's home in Plymouth, Minn. Authorities said the family was on a tour of homes in his neighborhood and they were looking for another house when Beasley came outside, pointed a firearm and told them to leave his property.

On Dec. 21, Beasley pleaded guilty to a felony charge of threatening to commit a crime of violence for the purpose of terrorizing another person. In February, he was sentenced to 120 days in jail, to be served after the NBA season.
