It’s official. The Golden State Warriors will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals for the third consecutive season.

This is no surprise and, quite frankly, it’s something we’ve expected ever since last summer. We all knew these two teams would meet again in the NBA Finals. The anticipation has been buzzing and everyone seems pumped for another Cavs-Warriors rematch. I sure am.

I think we are in for a great series. Both of these teams are playing tremendous basketball right now. They are clicking on all cylinders and neither team has really shown any sign of slowing down.

Heck, the Warriors haven’t even lost a game yet this postseason and the Cavs have only lost one! It’s pretty insane when you think about it.

The playoffs have been boring in a lot of people’s opinions. They think the postseason has been boring because of the lack of competitiveness. There haven’t been any great series and we’ve simply seen two dominant teams steam roll their way to The Finals. Others love the dominance and enjoy watching greatness. Regardless of which side of the coin you’re on, I think we can all agree that we’re excited for The NBA Finals and in for a great treat.

That being said, I was absolutely stunned when I saw the Vegas NBA Finals odds come out. They got released and I was stunned.

First off, the Warriors are favored by seven points in game one. Look, I understand it’s a home game for the Warriors. But seven whole points? Seems a bit much especially considering how good LeBron is with a full week of rest. I digress.

The more puzzling statistic is the betting line for the series itself. I was expecting odds that were pretty close to each other. I did not think there would be a huge favorite. I was wrong.

The odds came out and the Warriors have -260 odds to win the series, while the Cavaliers checked in at +220.

This is shocking to me. It’s the NBA Finals, both teams are playing great, and this series is pegged at that big of a line!? I don’t get it. It’s a really wide line for two evenly matched teams.

I’m usually pretty good and understanding what oddsmakers are doing, but I have no reasoning for this one. I have no clue why oddsmakers do not think we are going to get much of a series.

I couldn’t disagree more. I think we’ll get a great series. It will be hard to match the historic 2016 Finals last year between these two teams. But I expect it to be close! I expect this series to be very entertaining and climatic.

We have so much star power in this series between the two teams. There are a bunch of future HOFers and tons of legacy implications on the line. Both teams will be extremely motivated and both teams match up pretty well with each other.

Vegas confuses me this time. It’s scary. I don’t think Cleveland deserves to be this much of an underdog. They’re too damn good.

Before I let you go, if you haven’t had the time to visit Game Advisers, it’s time to go check it out. They will be offering free betting advice on every game throughout The NBA Finals.
