Freshman guard Wendell Moore Jr. will be sidelined indefinitely for No. 2 Duke after breaking a bone in his right hand in Saturday night's 95-62 win at Miami.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski said Monday that Moore was scheduled to undergo surgery.

The 6-foot-4 Moore, who is from Charlotte, N.C., has played in all 14 games for the Blue Devils, starting five. He averages 7.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game.

Moore told Duke trainers on Sunday that he experienced overnight swelling after the injury. He was diagnosed with a fracture of the fourth metacarpal bone.

"We were on it right away and there's quickness today in getting it done," Krzyzewski said Monday of the injury. "We think everything is going to be OK but he'll be out for a while."

The Blue Devils (13-1, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) play Wednesday night at Georgia Tech.
