North Carolina and Davidson will have a home-state advantage when the Maui Invitational tips off next month in Asheville, N.C.
The annual college basketball tournament was relocated from the beaches of Hawaii to the Blue Ridge Mountains due to the COVID-19 pandemic and travel issues. It will be played from Nov. 30-Dec. 2 in a bubble environment at Harrah's Cherokee Center.
The eight-team bracket was released on Wednesday.
The first round will see Texas play Davidson, whose campus is about 100 miles from Asheville, at noon ET. Indiana faces Providence in the second game at 2:30 p.m. ET.
In the other half of the bracket, North Carolina will play UNLV at 7 p.m. ET and Stanford takes on Alabama at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Tar Heels' campus in Chapel Hill is about 200 miles from Asheville.
The championship game tips off at 4 p.m. ET on Dec. 2.
All games will air on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.
Kansas won the 2019 Maui Invitational. North Carolina has won the tournament four times (1999, 2004, 2008 and 2016), second only to Duke's five titles. Other past winners in the 2020 field include Providence (1984) and Indiana (2002).
