Sacred Heart sophomore point guard Cameron Parker set an NCAA record with 24 assists in the Pioneers' 101-57 home rout of Division III Pine Manor (Mass.) on Sunday in Fairfield, Conn.
Parker broke the record of 22 shared by four players -- Charleston Southern's Tony Fairley (1987), Southern University's Avery Johnson (1988), Syracuse's Sherman Douglas (1989) and Oklahoma's Trae Young (2017).
Parker broke the record with 6:27 left in the contest when he passed the ball to E.J. Anosike for a layup.
Parker's previous career high for assists was 16, set in the Pioneers' previous game at Quinnipiac. He had 15 in the first half on Sunday.
Bill Burke held the former Sacred Heart record of 19 assists, set versus St. Michael's on Jan. 10, 1972.
Koreem Ozier scored a career-high 30 for Sacred Heart (4-4).
