Forward B.J. Mack announced Sunday night that he is departing the South Florida program.
Mack played sparingly as a freshman this season, averaging 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in 19 games. He played 7.5 minutes per game.
"After much thought and conversation with my family, I feel that is in best interest of me to transfer from the University of South Florida," Mack said in a note posted to Twitter. "... I would like to say thank you to my teammates for giving me long lasting memories for my freshman year and always believing in me and pushing me to be my best."
The 6-foot-8 Mack shot 44.1 percent from the field, including 3 of 14 from 3-point range.
