Syracuse leading scorer Elijah Hughes declared for the 2020 NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-6 wing averaged 19.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 32 games with the Orange in 2019-20.

Hughes transferred to Syracuse after his 2016-17 freshman season at East Carolina and has one year of eligibility remaining.

"I cannot thank the Syracuse community and fans enough for embracing me and making me feel welcomed and comfortable," he tweeted on Saturday. "You guys believed in me from the jump and I will be forever thankful for that.

"I plan to enter the NBA Draft process and try to fulfill my childhood dream."

He is projected as a second-round pick by most draft analysts and is ranked 57th on ESPN's list of the top 100 prospects.

Hughes averaged 13.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists and shot 34.2 percent from 3-point range in 91 career games (73 starts) with the Pirates (2016-17) and Orange (2018-20).
