Championship Week is underway in men’s college basketball and this Wednesday marks the start of competition in the biggest conferences in Division I. Along with the betting lines for each of the individual games on each day’s board, NCAAB future odds have been posted for each team’s chances to win their conference tournament to gain an automatic berth in this year’s NCAA Tournament starting next week.

The following is a brief breakdown of the best betting value in the odds posted for three of the most interesting tournaments on the board.

ACC Conference Tournament

Held in Charlotte from March 13 through this upcoming Saturday’s championship game, the ACC could be the most heavily bet tournament this week. The Virginia Cavaliers won the regular season title with a record of 16-2. Both losses came against Duke (14-4), but the Cavaliers won the title with a victory against North Carolina (16-2), which proved to be the tiebreaker.

College Basketball Picks: Conference Tournament Action

All three teams are at the top of the list to win the ACC Tournament title led by Virginia as a +125 favorite. The Duke Blue Devils are next on the list at +150 followed by the North Carolina Tar Heels as +300 third-favorites. North Carolina beat Duke twice in the regular season and it offers quite a bit of value at those extended odds. The big question for the Blue Devils is the availability of their best player, Zion Williamson.

Early indications point towards Williamson playing this week after missing his last five games with a knee injury. If that remains the case, Duke would be my top-valued pick.

Big East Conference Tournament

The Villanova Wildcats will officially begin their defense of last season’s national title as +225 favorites to win this week’s Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden from March 13 to March 16. While the Wildcats have not been a dominant force in the conference this season at 13-5 in Big East play, that record was enough to garner the regular season title over the Marquette Golden Eagles at 12-6.

The betting odds point to a head-to-head matchup between the two with Marquette set as a +250 second-favorite. The Creighton Bluejays is next on the list at +550 odds followed by the Seton Hall Pirates at +750.

Villanova split the season series against the Golden Eagles with the home team winning each game. The Wildcats did not play their best ball down the stretch with four losses in their last six games and Marquette closed out its regular season with four losses in a row.

This could open the door for a high-value play on the Seton Hall Pirates. They beat Creighton twice in the regular season before closing out the schedule with back-to-back upsets over Marquette and Villanova.

Big 12 Conference Tournament

This was the first time in Bill Self’s 16 seasons as head coach of Kansas that his Jayhawks lost six conference games and it cost the team the Big 12 regular season title. Both the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Kansas State Wildcats stepped up their game with matching 14-4 records at the top of the standings. These two teams split their regular season series to share that title.

Heading into this week’s conference tournament starting on Wednesday at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, the Red Raiders are listed as +140 favorites to win it all. Kansas State is second on the list at +350 odds closely followed by the Kansas Jayhawks as a +400 third-favorite. The Iowa State Cyclones could factor into the mix at +600 betting odds to win.

Current form favors Texas Tech after closing out the regular season with a nine-game winning streak that includes victories against Kansas at home by 29 points and against Iowa State on the road in its season finale. The Jayhawks still offer some value as sentimental favorites, but I am going chalk with the Red Raiders as actual favorites.
