Lamonte Turner's 3-pointer with one second left gave No. 17 Tennessee a thrilling 72-69 victory over No. 20 VCU on Saturday in the third-place game of the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla.
VCU's De'Riante Jenkins nailed a 3-pointer with five seconds remaining to tie the score at 69. Following a timeout, Josiah-Jordan James inbounded to Turner, who fired the winning shot from the right corner.
John Fulkerson scored 17 points, and Jordan Bowden added 14 for the Volunteers (6-1) of the Southeastern Conference.
Marcus Santos-Silva had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Atlantic 10's Rams (6-2), who shot 53.6 percent (15 of 28) in the second half to rally from a 13-point deficit. Jenkins scored 15 points.

Tyler Bey had 11 points, 17 rebounds and two blocked shots to lead the Buffaloes past the Hornets in a defensive struggle at Boulder, Colo.
Colorado (6-0) won despite committing 19 turnovers and making only three field goals in the last 10:50 of regulation.
Colorado did not have a double-digit scorer until Evan Battey made a layup with 2:54 left to give him 11 points. The shot was part of seven unanswered points that gave the Buffaloes a 52-40 lead. Battey finished with 11 points and six rebounds. McKinley Wright had 10 points.

Tyrique Jones recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, as the Musketeers used a pressure defense to pull away from the visiting Bisons in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Freshman Zach Freemantle collected a season-high 15 points and five rebounds before fouling out, and Paul Scruggs had 15 points, six rebounds and six assists for Xavier (7-1), who shot a season-high 48.6 percent from the field and forced Lipscomb into 18 turnovers.
KJ Johnson scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half, Ahsan Asadullah had 18 points and nine rebounds and Parker Hazen had eight points and eight rebounds for the Atlantic Sun's Bisons (3-5) in the first meeting between the schools.
