Eli Brooks scored 24 points, and Michigan delivered a huge second-half run to beat No. 6 North Carolina 73-64 on Thursday afternoon in a semifinal of the Battle 4 Atlantis at Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Michigan (6-0) will meet No. 8 Gonzaga on Friday in the championship game. North Carolina (5-1) will take on No. 11 Oregon in the third-place game.

Brooks, a junior guard, shot 9-for-14 from the field, making four 3-pointers. Isaiah Livers added 12 points, David DeJulius had 11 points, and Jon Teske recorded 10 points and eight rebounds for the Wolverines.

Freshman guard Cole Anthony scored 22 points for North Carolina while Garrison Brooks provided 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Anthony scored 12 of his points in the first half.

 

No. 5 Maryland 76, Temple 69

Anthony Cowan Jr. scored a game-high 30 points, and Eric Ayala notched seven in a row down the stretch as the Terrapins outlasted the Owls in an Orlando Invitational quarterfinal.

Cowan carried the Maryland offense for various stretches as not many other players could seem to get going. The senior guard finished 11-for-19 from the field and made 4 of 8 3-pointers to help the sluggish Terrapins (6-0) pull out a victory and set up a semifinal with Harvard on Friday.

Alani Moore II and J.P. Moorman II sparked Temple (4-1) throughout the game. Moore led the way with 22 points while Moorman finished with 14. The game stayed tight the whole way and was tied at 62 with less than three minutes left when Cowan drilled a 3-pointer from the left corner that gave Maryland the lead for good.

 

No. 8 Gonzaga 73, No. 11 Oregon 72 (OT)

Filip Petrusev scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, Drew Timme made the go-ahead free throw with 20 seconds left in overtime, and the Bulldogs held off the Ducks to reach the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game in Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Gonzaga (8-0) jumped to a 17-point lead early with a variety of baskets and a stingy defense, but Oregon (6-1) rallied to take the lead in a back-and-forth second half.

Gonzaga's Corey Kispert scored 17 points, hitting five 3-pointers. Oregon's Payton Pritchard scored 17 points, including a critical 3-pointer in the final minute of regulation.

 

No. 16 Memphis 83, NC State 78

Boogie Ellis scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half as the Tigers built a big lead and held off the Wolfpack for a victory at Barclays Center in New York.

Memphis (6-1) received key plays down the stretch after NC State threatened to wipe out a 20-point, second-half deficit, closing as close as three points with 59 seconds to play.

Precious Achiuwa had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Tyler Harris ended up with 14 points for the Tigers, who produced a 39-26 rebounding edge.
