Coveted 2020 forward Jaemyn Brakefield committed to Duke on Friday, one day after receiving a scholarship offer from the Blue Devils.
The versatile Brakefield, a five-star recruit from Huntington (W.Va.) Prep, is rated No. 23 overall on ESPN's Top 100.
Brakefield reportedly learned of Duke's interest on Wednesday night when he received a call from Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. The next day, the Blue Devils offered the scholarship and Brakefield didn't waste any time accepting.
"110% Committed! Look what God can do," Brakefield tweeted Friday while posting a picture of himself in a Duke uniform.
The 6-foot-8 Brakefield previously took official visits to Auburn and Louisville. He also was considering taking visits to Michigan and Ole Miss.
Duke has five commitments for 2020 and each player is among ESPN's top 50. The class is ranked No. 1.
The Blue Devils also have commitments from small forward Jalen Johnson (No. 4), point guard Jeremy Roach (No. 15), shooting guard D.J. Steward (No. 26) and power forward Henry Coleman (No. 42).
