Villanova's pause following a COVID-19 issue just got a bit longer.
The third-ranked Wildcats' road game against Connecticut on Jan. 15 has been postponed, the Big East Conference said Friday. No makeup date has been announced.
Villanova (8-1, 3-0) will not complete its quarantine in time to play the game in Storrs, Conn. That game is the fourth scheduled to be missed by the Wildcats since they announced they were remaining off the court due to a COVID-19 issue on Monday. The Wildcats were scheduled to play at DePaul on Tuesday, host Marquette on Friday and travel to Xavier on Jan. 13.
Villanova, which previously shut down operations on Dec. 27, is slated to return to action on Jan. 19 against Seton Hall.
Head coach Jay Wright's Wildcats have not played since an 85-68 win at Marquette on Dec. 23. Villanova has won six straight games.
UConn (5-1, 2-1), which has won two in a row, is slated to play a road game against Butler on Saturday.
