NFL Picks: Packers head to LA to take on Chargers while Patriots look to stay perfect
by Brad Mullins Scores & Statson
The Eagles and the Chargers came through for us this past week with money line wins and the Bears proved they are a fraud and the Bills are indeed exactly who we thought they were. It’s much too early to crown anyone just yet, however, the Saints continue to roll and the 49ers look better than ever at 7-0.
The Patriots didn’t exactly destroy the Browns, they did get the victory and the cover for their 8th win of the season and this team looks as good as the Patriots have ever looked. The team is ageless and Brady is a football phenomenon. It just continues. We don’t think they go undefeated. The question is, who brings them down? Sunday night’s game is going to be a test for this team as they travel to Baltimore. Can the Ravens push their will on Brady and company? That Patriots front-four is maybe the best in football. It’s going to be a fun one.
Monday nights game will be another interesting affair as the Cowboys are coming off a bye and head to the Meadowlands to face the Giants. The Giants are a weird bunch. They have moments of football clarity and then they show “butt fumble moments”. The Cowboys went through their losing streak and we expect them to be tuned up and ready for Monday. No matter who you like or don’t like, we have the action right here, so check out our picks for this week.
49ers vs. Cardinals (SF -10, O/U: 43) Best Line: Bovada
The 49ers are destroying teams and last week was another example as they laid the wood to the Panthers. They come into Phoenix with a 7-0 start to the season, can they continue? Without question, this team is well-coached and they finally have their act together with Jimmy Garoppolo at the helm. LISTEN: It would be a mistake to overlook the Cardinals. This team is figuring things out and they have a quarterback that can ball with anybody. Kyler Murray is 186-292 for 1988 yards on the season with 7 TDs and 4 Interceptions. We are not crowing him as the next Tom Brady as of yet, but neither is Garppolo, with his 1489 yards, 9 TDs, and 7 picks. We like the 49ers, but we don’t like -10. The Cardinals keep this one close and the offense plays big on both sides to shoot well over a total of 43. Cardinals +10 and over 43.
Texans vs. Jaguars (HOU -2, O/U: 46.5) Best Line: America’s Bookie
The Texans struggled against the Raiders at home and the Jaguars looked great against the Jets, ha, however, that was the Jets. We still don’t think the Jets are as bad as they look on the field. They did beat the Cowboys. The Jags can win this game at home and just as with the Colts, we think the Texans find a way to beat themselves. Jaguars Money Line Win. Over 46.
Redskins vs. Bills (Buf -9.5, O/U: 37) Best Line: Intertops
The Buffalo Bills are a better team than the Redskins and they are certainly a better-coached team, however, we didn’t like the Bills as a favorite against the Eagles last week and look, they lost straight up. The Redskins hung around with the Vikings in Minnesota, why can’t they hang around for at least 9-points against Buffalo? Minnesota +9.
Jets vs. Dolphins (NYJ -3, O/U: 40.5) Best Line: JazzSports
Both come in awful and yes, we know it’s a bit of a stretch to pick a team that’s 0-7, but we have to like this one to be close and we like some of what we saw in the first half of Monday night’s game in Pittsburgh. The Dolphins pick up their first win against a struggling Jets. Dolphins Money Line Win.
Bears vs. Eagles (PHI -4.5, O/U: 43.5) Best Line: Bovada
The Bears lost to the Chargers at home to take them into the losing bracket at 3-4. We love the Eagles in this one. Jump on -4.5. Eagles 27, Bears 17.
The Colts have been good but were exposed by a solid Broncos defense but an awful Broncos offense. The Colts got away with one. The Steelers are struggling to find themselves but they will win this game at home. Steelers Money Line Win.
Titans vs. Panthers (CAR -3.5, O/U: 42) Best Line: Intertops
This game will be a bumbling, fumbling comedy or errors and whoever wins the turnover battle probably comes out on top. Love the over. Over 42.
Lions vs. Raiders (OAK -2, O/U: 50.5) Best Line: JazzSports
These two will get after it offensively with two solid QB’s that can both throw for a mile. Neither defense looks that special and the Lions proved that against the Giants, while the Raiders gave up 27 to the Texans. Over 50.
Buccaneers vs. Seahawks (SEA -6, O/U: 51) Best Line: Bovada
Wilson is having another career year and the Seahawks are coming off a road victory in Atlanta. The Seahawks play better at home and they will easily win this one. It could be a close first half but look for the breakaway late for the cover. Seahawks -6.
Browns vs. Broncos (CLE -3.5, O/U: 39) Best Line: America’s Bookie
The Broncos are averaging just 15-points per game and Flaco clearly doesn’t want to be in Denver. He is awful. He is not starting this week and Allen gets the nod. The Browns have no direction whatsoever and who knows where they end up at the end of the season. In this one, we have to like the home team and stick with a still, elite defense. Broncos +3.5.
Packers vs. Chargers (GB -3, O/U: 47.5) Best Line: Intertops
The Chargers and Rivers play well after a road win and we think they bring it this Sunday against a solid Packers team. The Pack looks great, but it’s about time for Rogers to have a bad game and we think it happens against a solid secondary in LA. Chargers Money Line Win.
Patriots vs. Ravens (NE -3.5, O/U: 44.5) Best Line: Intertops
The Patriots have a scary good defense and that carries their offense. This one will be a battle to the finish and we like the Ravens to stay close. Ravens +3.5.
Cowboys vs. Giants (Dal -7, O/U: 48) Best Line: Intertops
The Cowboys need this win and they will be pressing. The Giants need respect and they are out to earn it. They nearly pulled it off against the Lions. This one stays close with a pile of offense. Giants +7, and Over 48.

I love sports! My passion is sports. I love talking about
it, arguing about it, following and keeping up with the current state of
affairs. Having lived in many places helps me connect with many different fan

Yankees fan, or a Chargers fan. I love it and I hope to continue to give
readers a different perspective than the average, run of the mill story will
As you read my stories; I hope you enjoy them. I hope they
make you think, maybe make you happy and even make you mad! As you read further
you may discover that over the years; I have been influenced by people such as
