The AFC East has been a juggernaut of wins for one team; the Patriots. The New England Patriots have literally owned the division and until Tom Brady and Bill Belichick decide that enough is enough, this division will remain under lock and key. Since 2001, the Patriots have lost the division title only twice, and even those two years, (02, 08), they finished in second place. This team has been a perineal winner and will continue to be with an obvious proven system that works. Having said all of that; what matters most when looking at NFL futures is what the schedule looks like for the upcoming season and making a fair assessment based on current player personal.
As before mentioned, the Patriots are pretty much a lock to win the division. None of the other three have made any kind of real offseason moves for us to believe otherwise.
In this day and age there isn’t such a thing as a soft schedule but if there was, the Patriots have it. This team not only easily lands on the over 11, they should win 13, and possibly even more. The Patriots are not slowing down and although it’s early, we see 13 wins, baring some catastrophic occurrence, I.E Brady retiring!
7.5 is an easy number on paper but remember this is the Jets were talking about! It seems that every time we get up for the Jets they take a giant dump in the birthday cake! The first half of the schedule is a beast opening up against the Patriots on the road, the Browns at home, and the Bills at home. So, two of the three are at home and one is the beleaguered Bills. With the addition of Le’Veon Bell and Jamison Crowder, there should be enough offense with an Adam Gase plan and a Darnold arm. The first 8 games will be tough, but they win at least 3, they have enough fire power to win 5 down the stretch and finish second in the division.
The Bills have had a good offseason and they are placing tools in the belt of Josh Allen. Does this mean they win a bunch of games and surprise the NFL? No, absolutely not. It means they have a long-term plan for the future and in the next three years (Brady should be gone) they will be much better. The addition of Tyler Kroft will prove valuable along with Zay Jones, Robert Foster, Beasley and John Brown. With too many offseason moves to mention here, we can say, they have a favorable schedule that should get them 8 wins. It’s certainly not a bet that we are willing to mortgage the house for, but we would have to go over 7 before going under. We know this; two losses to the Patriots, they split with the Jets and Miami and from there, they rule their own destiny in the middle of a very reasonable schedule. We say over 7.
Look, the Dolphins addressed many off-season issues and you can believe, they had more issues than “Carter has pills”! This entire franchise ended the season in disarray, however, they did manage some nice moments along the way last season. Are they so bad they can’t find 5 wins? Probably not and this brings another dilemma to mind. Can the Patriots win more than 11 games and have multiple .500 teams in the division? Yes, absolutely they can. We actually believe that the Patriots, Jets and Bills all finish with at least a .500 record or better. The Draft was great for the Dolphins and Christian Wilkins should beef up the defensive unit along with Charles Harris. Defense will keep Miami in games, the offense is the real question mark. Fitzpatrick has his moments but building with Rosen is a much better plan for the future. This team may be the surprise of the AFC but don’t count on that. For our money, the over is valuable. This team wins more than 5 games
At the end of the day, there are some great future bets to be had and we believe that Miami can push .500. That would mean that all four teams in the AFC East finish at .500 or better. The Patriots win the division easily and once again fight for a Super Bowl. The AFC East is a great conference to bet on and one your online sportsbook will no doubt be touting. Get in and get in early for a great futures bet on team wins.
