Houston four-star recruit Dematrius Davis, one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the country, announced Sunday that he's committing to Auburn.
The commitment gives the Tigers their first quarterback in the class of 2021 and their eighth signing overall.
The 6-foot Davis is the fourth best dual threat QB in the country, according to ESPN, and 247Sports' composite rankings has the junior as the sixth best dual threat QB and the 130th best player overall.
Davis had previously committed to Virginia Tech but reopened his recruitment earlier this month. He chose Auburn over LSU, Texas A&M and the Hokies.
Davis, who accounted for more than 4,000 combined yards (2,672 passing) and 54 touchdowns in his junior season, has led Houston North Shore High School to consecutive Texas 6-A titles. Davis had a 71 percent completion rate and 49 touchdowns in his sophomore season.
