Reports: Oregon RB Travis Dye enters transfer portal

Oregon running back Travis Dye, the Pac-12's leader in yards from scrimmage in 2021, entered the transfer portal, multiple outlets reported Friday.

Dye rushed for 1,271 yards and 16 touchdowns and averaged 6.0 yards per carry. He hauled in 46 catches for 402 yards and two touchdowns. Dye led Oregon in both rushing yards and receptions in 2021, the first player to do so for the Ducks since Sean Burwell in 1992.

In all, Dye had 1,673 yards from scrimmage, averaging 119.5 yards per game. While that mark was the best in the Pac-12, it ranked 13th nationally. Dye was named as an honorable mention on the All-Pac-12 football team in 2021.

Entering the transfer portal gives him the opportunity to talk to other programs but doesn't commit him to a transfer.

If Dye chooses not to return to Oregon, he will leave the Ducks as one of just five players in the program's history to rush for more than 3,000 yards in a career.

Oregon finished the season with a 10-4 mark, good for No. 22 in the final Associated Press Top 25 rankings.
