The first week of the NFL regular season is in the books and here is what happened on the wagering front.

Favorites: 8-5-1 SU and 6-7-1 ATS (Two games went as Pick's and the home team was 2-0)
Favorite of 7 or more: 1-2 SU and ATS
Favorites of 3 or less: 2-2-1 SU and 1-3-1 ATS
Home Underdogs: 0-2-1 SU and 1-2 ATS

This all leads to our score-based Power Ratings, which is new this season. These type of ratings are based not only on records but on how teams did against the point spread, which gives us a broader view when it comes to understanding strengths of a team when making lines.

Here are this week's ranking and team comments. Your comments are always welcome.

1. Minnesota Vikings

Odds: +800
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 1st

If Kirk Cousins continues to grow with this team and Dalvin Cook can play all season, this might the best team at the end of the season also. Big game at Green Bay.

2. Los Angeles Rams

Odds: +900
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 5th

The L.A. Rams were methodical and dismantled Oakland quarter by quarter and showed their talent and diversity.

3. New England Patriots

Odds: +600
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 3rd

The New England defense appears stronger and there is more speed at receiver position since when Randy Moss played there. AFC title game rematch Sunday.

4. Philadelphia Eagles

Odds: +900
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 2nd

The Philadelphia defense saved them against Atlanta in the first half and the offense did what was needed in a hard-fought win over the Falcons. Interesting test at Tampa Bay.

5. Baltimore Ravens

Odds: +2500
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 12th

Easily the most impressive performance of the week. Baltimore has played well since the starts of the preseason and can send notice they are for real with a win at Cincy Thursday.

6. Green Bay Packers

Odds: +1200
Last Week's Rank: 6th
Record: 1-0 and 0-1 ATS

An unbelievable win over Chicago, their greatest second-half comeback ever. Aaron Rodgers status is unknown with big game Vikings contest on tap.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers

Odds: +1000
Last Week's Rank: 4th
Record: 0-0-1 and 0-1 ATS

Another lackluster Steelers showing and they were fortunate to get a tie with a -5 turnover margin. Challenging Kansas City home game next.

8. Atlanta Falcons

Odds: +2000
Last Week's Rank: 8th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

Atlanta just cannot win in Philly falling to 1-9 SU and ATS. Falcons need a home win over Carolina or this might be an overvalued squad.

9. Carolina Panthers

Odds: +2800
Last Week's Rank: 13th
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS

Carolina beat Dallas in the trenches, which was a little surprising considering their injuries in the offensive line. Are the Panthers better than we think? We find out in Atlanta.

10. Kansas City Chiefs

Odds: +2000
Last Week's Rank: 15th
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS

Andy Reid has big-play offense and Pat Mahomes has tremendous arm strength. Pittsburgh always gives Chiefs trouble.

11. Jacksonville Jaguars

Odds: +1600
Last Week's Rank: 9th
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS

That Jacksonville defense is stout and can take away principles of many offenses. The offense will have to be better this week to upset New England at home.

12. New Orleans Saints

Odds: +1800
Last Week's Rank: 7th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

The defense was a no-show against Tampa Bay and was lit up like the Fourth of July. Immediate improvement required.

13. Cincinnati Bengals

Odds: +6600
Last Week's Rank: 19th
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS

Nice come from behind triumph for Cincinnati at Indianapolis. But those were the Colts, here come the Ravens to the Queen City.

14. Los Angeles Chargers

Odds: +2500
Last Week's Rank: 11th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

Victimized by the big play offense of Kansas City and way too many crucial mistakes on their part. The Chargers should win in Buffalo, but.....?

15. San Francisco 49ers

Odds: +3300
Last Week's Rank: 16th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

San Francisco had good, not great front-line talent, but a number of starters are already injured to start the season for Niners.

16. Dallas Cowboys

Odds: +4000
Last Week's Rank: 14th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

Potentially a team in trouble with no offensive identity. Was Dak Prescott that good early in his career because of the players around him?

17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Odds: +6600
Last Week's Rank: 25th
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS

Ryan Fitzpatrick has games like he did in New Orleans and just as soon as expectations come with past performances, he starts making mistakes again.

18. Seattle Seahawks

Odds: +6600
Last Week's Rank: 18th
Record: 0-1 and 0-0-1 ATS

After all these years Seattle still has not put together an even an average offensive line as we saw against Denver. Here comes Khalil Mack Monday!

19. New York Jets

Odds: +10000
Last Week's Rank: 29th
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS

Gang Green whipped Detroit in all phases of their game. If the Flyboys play like that in the home opener against Miami, they could be 2-0!

20. Washington Redskins

Odds: +5000
Last Week's Rank: 28th
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS

There was a different vibe in watching Alex Smith running the Washington offense. Let's see if Redskins can bury a part of history with a follow-up effort at home vs. Indy.

21. Houston Texans

Odds: +2500
Last Week's Rank: 17th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

Deshaun Watson played like the rookie many expected last year in the season opener. A victory at Tennessee could establish the Texans as the second-best team in their division.

22. Detroit Lions

Odds: +8000
Last Week's Rank: 10th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

Cannot think of a team that had a winning record the previous year, changed head coaches and looked worse in their first game. Detroit is 0-8 SU in San Francisco since 1992.

23. Miami Dolphins

Odds: +8000
Last Week's Rank: 24th
Record: 1-0 SU and ATS

Miami played more like in 2016 with Ryan Tannehill back under center and the offensive line might be better than most thought coming in.

24. Tennessee Titans

Odds: +6600
Last Week's Rank: 21st
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

Tennessee defense was picked apart by Miami's short passing game and the D-Line offered little resistance. Marcus Mariota, where are you?

25. New York Giants

Odds: +6600
Last Week's Rank: 20th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

The defense hung in versus Jacksonville and the offense made a few plays, but they still lost. A loss at Dallas could linger on a team expecting improvement this season.

26. Denver Broncos

Odds: +3300
Last Week's Rank: 27th
Record: 1-0 SU and 0-0-1 ATS

Case Keenum tossed three picks and Denver's not going to win many games with that as part of their winning formula.

27. Oakland Raiders

Odds: +8000
Last Week's Rank: 22nd
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

Good game plan against the Rams, then talent took over. Derek Carr continues to make poor decisions which cost his team.

28. Chicago Bears

Odds: +5000
Last Week's Rank: 30th
Record: 0-1 SU and 1-0 ATS

If Chicago plays somewhere in the middle of the two half's they played against Green Bay last week they will be improved.

29. Arizona Cardinals

Odds: +15000
Last Week's Rank: 26th
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

Sam Bradford played awful for Arizona and the play-calling left much to be desired. The defensive front seven was abused, this bears watching.

30. Buffalo Bills

Odds: +50000
Last Week's Rank: 23rd
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

All the talk of quarterback play going to be an issue in Buffalo was 100 percent true in Week 1. Should rookie Josh Allen just play and have on the job training?

31. Cleveland Browns

Odds: +8000
Last Week's Rank: 32nd
Record: 0-0-1 and 1-0 ATS

The good news, Cleveland will not be 0-16 this season. The bad news, they are on an 18-game winless streak and are at an angry New Orleans bunch.

32. Indianapolis Colts

Odds: +10000
Last Week's Rank: 31st
Record: 0-1 SU and ATS

The Colts had 23-10 lead over the Bengals almost halfway through the third quarter and were outscored 24-0 the rest of the way. Ranking appears accurate.
