For really the first time all season, the favorites had a good week in most cases. Still on the season underdogs are the way to wager this season.  As far as the Power Ratings, can you guess what team took a major fall for a second straight week? Read on and learn.

Favorites: 10-4 SU and 7-7 ATS (Season: 67-33-2 SU and 45-54-3 ATS)
Favorite of 7 or more: 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS (Season: 18-6 SU and 10-13-1 ATS)
Favorites of 3 or less: 4-2 SU and 4-2 ATS  (Season: 22-18-2 SU and 19-21-2 ATS)
Home Underdogs: 1-4 SU and 1-4 ATS (Season: 11-12-2 SU and 17-8 ATS)
Pick Games: Home team 4-1 ATS

This all leads to our score-based Power Ratings, which we introduced this season. These type of ratings are based not only on records but on how teams did against the point spread, which gives us a broader view when it comes to understanding the strengths of a team when making lines.

Here are this week's ranking and team updates. Your comments are always welcome.

1. Los Angeles Rams

Odds: +300
Record: 7-0 SU and 4-2-1 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 1st

The Rams bullied San Francisco and forced four turnovers. Though Green Bay has pretty good defensive statistical numbers, they do give up rushing yards in bunches and their young secondary can be picked on.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

Odds: +600
Record: 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 2nd

You begin to wonder if it is even wise to beat against Kansas City going forward after how they buried Cincinnati. Denver will come ready to play and try and get physical again, but will it matter at Arrowhead?

3. New Orleans Saints

Odds: +800
Record: 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 3rd

Clutch victory for New Orleans at Baltimore, though a little luck was required for a team nicknamed the Saints. In the last weeks, Drew Brees has become the NFL's all-time passing leader, joined the 500-TD pass club, now beaten every team at least once and now tries to put behind last year's awful last-second loss at Minnesota this week.

4. Minnesota Vikings

Odds: +1200
Record: 4-2-1 SU and 3-2-2 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 7th

Minnesota played a smart game at the New York Jets and wisely disguised defenses to create turnovers or bad plays for Gang Green. No such luck going against Drew Brees this week and the Vikings are out to prove last year's miracle pass to win over New Orleans was not a fluke.

5. Baltimore Ravens

Odds: +2500
Record: 4-3 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 4th

Fantastic last-minute comeback by Joe Flacco to bring Baltimore within a point of tying New Orleans, only to have K Justin Tucker miss first-ever NFL extra point. The Ravens have to pick themselves up quickly, otherwise, they will fall in Charlotte and be a .500 at the halfway point.

6. New England Patriots

Odds: +500
Record: 5-2 and 4-3 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 6th

Chicago made it interesting against New England, but in typical Patriots fashion, they found a way to win. The Pats defense remains a major concern with their lack of speed, but that probably won't be a factor at Buffalo Monday.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers

Odds: +1800
Record: 3-2-1 SU and 3-3 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 8th

The Steelers are off a bye week and want to make good on tying Cleveland to start the season. Pittsburgh will attempt to focus on the Browns, but the players know they have a date with Baltimore next.

8. Los Angeles Chargers

Odds: +1600
Record: 5-2 SU and 3-4 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 5th

The Chargers played an excellent first half in London and a less than excellent second half and were fortunate to beat Tennessee. The only good thing, the Bolts are off next week and can just relish in the outcome.

9. Seattle Seahawks

Odds: +6600
Record: 3-3 and 3-2-1 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 10th

Seattle returns to action and it's a compelling contest against Detroit, who like them have overcome a 0-2 start. The Seahawks running game has averaged 171 YPG in their last three contests and they will face the Lions No.30 run defense.

10. Carolina Panthers

Odds: +2800
Record: 4-2 SU and 3-3  ATS
Last Week's Rank: 14th

Gritty performance by Carolina at Philly, coming from 17 points down in the latter stages of the third period. Those types of wins can be galvanizing for the Panthers and a triumph over Baltimore would signal Cam Newton and crew are ready to fight with New Orleans for NFC South title.

11. Detroit Lions

Odds: +5000
Record: 3-3 SU and 5-1 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 13th

Detroit continues to turn their season around and all the early whining about Matt Patricia pushing Lions players too hard has dissipated. A home win over Seattle could be the springboard to a stellar rest of the season.

12. Philadelphia Eagles

Odds: +2200
Record: 3-4 and 2-5 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 9th

Philadelphia blew a late 17-0 third-quarter lead to Carolina and lost 21-17. Coach Doug Pederson is being questioned and he doesn't like it one bit. The Eagles will try to get back to .500 versus Jacksonville across the big pond.

13. Green Bay Packers

Odds: +2200
Record: 3-2-1 SU and 2-4 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 12th

Green Bay will play four of their next five on the road starting in Los Angeles against our No.1 Power Ratings team, the Rams. If the Packers remain a nine-point or larger underdog, that will be the largest spread Aaron Rodgers has ever faced.

14. Cincinnati Bengals

Odds: +4000
Record: 4-3 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 11th

The Bengals were confident they could compete with the Chiefs on Sunday and that belief was completely wrong. In the NFL you don't have time to feel sorry for yourself and you have to move. Cincinnati could be 5-3 if they defeat Tamp Bay this week, which keeps in the AFC North chase, which was one of their goals in 2018.

15. Dallas Cowboys

Odds: +4500
Record: 3-4 SU and 3-4-1 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 15th

Dallas was outplayed by Washington, but a penalty prevented them from a chance to win OT. With the addition of Amari Cooper, Dak Prescott will have a shiny new toy to throw to when the Cowboys return from their break.

16. Houston Texans

Odds: +3300
Record: 4-3 SU and 2-4-1 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 18th

Talk about your turnarounds, what about Houston! The Texans started 0-3 and month later they lead their division thanks to four consecutive victories. The defense is stepping up, holding last three opponents to 12 PPG and if the offense perks a bit more, Houston beats Miami on Thursday night.

17. Washington Redskins

Odds: +3300
Record: 4-2 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 20th

Look who's atop the NFC East, the Washington Redskins. Jay Gruden's club is 3rd against the run and running the ball more effectively every week. If they can handle prosperity and knock off the Giants in New Jersey, they start to look like a frontrunner in the NFC East.

18. Chicago Bears

Odds: +3300
Record: 3-3 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 16th

Chicago outgained the Patriots by 72 yards, but two special teams malfunctions sent the Bears to defeat a second straight setback. The Chicago defense will look to confuse Sam Darnold of the Jets into miscues and hope the offense can cash them into touchdowns.

19. Atlanta Falcons

Odds: +4000
Record: 3-4 SU and 2-5 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 19th

After defeating the Giants on Monday night, Atlanta like almost every team going into a bye has an opportunity to get healthy. When the Falcons return, two outdoor games await them.

 20. Tennessee Titans

Odds: +10000
Record: 3-4 SU and 4-3 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 23rd

A valiant second-half effort brought Tennessee within a point of the Chargers, yet, they could not seal the deal.  Marcus Mariota has to get 100% healthy during the Titans time off is they want to return to the postseason.

21. Jacksonville Jaguars

Odds: +4000
Record: 3-4 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 17th

Once again Blake Bortles is making the last half of last season seem like a mirage, as he continues as a turnover machine. Coach Doug Marrone said Monday he's sticking with Bortles as his starter versus Philly in London, but if Bortles fails again, maybe the Jaguars will take his passport so he cannot return home.

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Odds: +12500
Record: 3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 22nd

With all the ways Tampa Bay has found ways to lose games over decades, a last ditch 59-yard goal field in OT seemed like a fitting conclusion for them to knock off Cleveland. The Buccaneers have 13 turnovers in their past four encounters and more of the same means a setback in Cincinnati this week.

23. Indianapolis Colts

Odds: +15000
Record: 2-5 SU and 3-4 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 27th

Say what you will about the Colts, they might not be very good, but the effort is there every week. They will have a chance to win back to back contests when traveling to play the Raiders.

24. Miami Dolphins

Odds: +8000
Record: 4-3 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 25th

Miami is the worst winning team in the NFL, if there is such a thing. The Dolphins are 29th in rush defense and yards per pass allowed and are at H-Town on a short week looking for solutions before the season turns into a dumpster fire.

25. Denver Broncos

Odds: +8000
Record: 3-4 SU and 2-4-1 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 31st

All-Pro Von Miller and other leaders of Denver's team talked about playing with more purpose before there Thursday night game with Arizona and it worked as they pummeled the Redbirds. What can he or others come up with to upset Kansas City on the road?

26. New York Jets

Odds: +15000
Record: 3-4 SU and ATS
Last Week's Rank: 21st

The Jets had hoped they could sweep their three-game homestand before embarking on two-game road trip, but Minnesota was too tough. Next for Gang Green is an angry group of Bears who have lost two straight, convinced they should have won both.

27. Cleveland Browns

Odds: +15000
Record: 2-4-1 SU and 5-2 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 29th

The Browns might not a lot better, but at least backers are making money supporting them. Let's see what they what kind of effort they bring to Pittsburgh after such a loss. What are the odds on another OT game for Cleveland?

28. San Francisco 49ers

Odds: +50000
Record: 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 24th

The 49ers were no match for the Rams, even at home and were throttled. San Francisco has a legitimate chance for a win at Arizona this week.

29. New York Giants

Odds: +25000
Record: 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 30th

The New York Giants are just not a good football team and proved that for roughly 58 minutes Monday night. Do you feel like taking a chance with them against Washington this week?

30. Buffalo Bills

Odds: +50000
Record: 2-5 SU and 3-5 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 26th

Buffalo has now tried three different quarterbacks in seven games and somehow they thought A.J. McCarron would not have better than this landfill of garbage they have created, averaging a laughable 11.5 PPG. This coming Monday, the Bills will try and match points with New England. LOL

31. Arizona Cardinals

Odds: +75000
Record: 1-5 SU and 3-2-1 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 28th

The Arizona Cardinals in primetime last Thursday had more laughs than an episode of "The Neighborhood". The Cardinals fired OC Mike McCoy after six games and coach Steve Wilks already has his back up against a cactus. A win over the Niners would be a brief reprieve.

32. Oakland Raiders

Odds: +30000
Record: 1-5 SU and 1-4-1 ATS
Last Week's Rank: 32nd

Even on a bye week the Oakland becomes weaker. Marshawn Lynch will miss significant time with a groin injury and their best receiver, Amari Cooper, was traded this week. It seems nearly impossible Derek Carr can improve without much talents around him and beating the Colts just became a bigger challenge.
