Colts place RB Michael on injured reserve

The Indianapolis Colts placed running back Christine Michael on injured reserve.

Running back Troymaine Pope was signed to replace the roster spot of Michael, who signed with the Colts on June 1.

Indianapolis marked the fourth different NFL team that employed Michael since he was selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft out of Texas A&M. Michael played 37 career games with Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys over the past four seasons.

Michael had 31 carries for 114 yards and one touchdown in six games with the Packers last season after being claimed off waivers on Nov. 16. The 26-year-old was released by the Seahawks on the previous day after rushing for 469 yards and six touchdowns and reeling in 20 catches for 96 yards and a score.

Michael has 254 carries for 1,080 yards and seven rushing touchdowns to go along with 26 receptions for 135 yards and a score in his NFL career.

Pope recorded 12 carries for 44 yards while playing in four games last season with the Seahawks and New York Jets.
