Intertops Top Super Bowl LIII Player Prop Bet Picks

When it comes to betting props for next Sunday’s highly anticipated matchup between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII, Intertops online sportsbook has you covered with a complete listing of scoring, game and player betting options.
One of the most popular player props covers the betting odds for which player scores the first touchdown for their respective team. This game is filled with star power throughout each offensive lineup so the betting choices run deep. The following is my top-valued pick for each team.
Five Reasons the Los Angeles Rams Will Win the Super Bowl
Super Bowl LIII - First New England Touchdown Scorer
Breaking down New England’s scoring this season, the offense posted a total of 47 touchdowns. With Tom Brady at quarterback, the Patriots scored 29 touchdowns through the air with another 18 touchdowns running the ball. In two postseason games, New England scored 10 touchdowns, but eight of those scores came on running plays with Brady only throwing two touchdown throws.
The betting odds for this prop follow the postseason pattern with rookie running back Sony Michel listed as a +300 favorite to score New England’s first touchdown in the Super Bowl. He would be the logical choice with a team-high six rushing touchdowns in the regular season and another five in the playoffs.
The versatile James White is second on the list along with wide receiver Julian Edelman at +450 betting odds. White rushed for five touchdowns this season with seven more scores through the air. He was shutout in the two playoffs games, but that could actually add more value to his odds playing a bigger part of the game plan against the Rams.
Five Reasons the New England Patriots Will Win the Super Bowl
Running back Rex Burkhead and tight end Rob Gronkowski are the other two logical choices at +650 betting odds. Gronkowski always adds value to his odds given his past performance in big games, but I am going with White as my top-valued play in this prop.
Super Bowl LIII - First Los Angeles Touchdown Scorer
The Rams were the second-highest scoring team in the NFL this season with an average of 32.9 points per game. The offense scored 55 touchdowns with a solid balance between the pass and the run. Jared Goff ended the regular with 32 passing touchdowns and running back Todd Gurley accounted for 17 of the 23 touchdowns scored on the ground. He also caught four passes for scores.
This is why it is no surprise that Gurley is the favorite to score the first Los Angeles touchdown in the Super Bowl at +300. The one wrinkle in the equation is running back C.J. Anderson as a +350 second-favorite. Filling in for Gurley at the end of the regular season, he made the most of his second chance in the playoffs with a team-high 167 rushing yards and two of the team’s four rushing touchdowns (Gurley scored the other two).

Third on the list is wide receiver Brandin Cooks at +450. He caught five touchdowns in the regular season with one score running the ball. A close fourth at +500 odds is wide receiver, Robert Woods. He led the Rams in receiving touchdowns with six along with one rushing touchdown. Draining a bit of value from each of these player’s odds is the Rams turning to the run in the playoffs when in scoring position with just one passing touchdown in those two games.
Stretching the odds for this prop, wide receiver Josh Reynolds (+750) and tight end Tyler Higbee (+1000) are next on the list. Higbee caught the lone passing touchdown from Goff in the postseason.
Despite Gurley taking a backseat to Anderson in the NFC title game, I still think you have to dance with the one that brought you there as my top pick in this prop.
