NFL 6-Point Teasers For Your Betting Arsenal - Week 13 Picks
by Doug Upstone Scores & Statson
As promised, we are doing our absolute best to reach prior levels of past records and profits on NFL teasers. Last week we added in Dallas as a fifth play because of we absolutely loved it and ended up going 4-1. That meant we hit one of two four-team teasers and multiples on two and three teamers.
That has brought our overall record to 34-16 (22-8 L7W) and getting closer to our benchmark figure of 75 percent, which we have a real shot at starting this week over the past two months. Let's try and crush it this week!
Here is a look at the four teasers we like for this upcoming week. If you are new to this article, skip down to below the games to learn a great way to make money betting NFL teasers.
Because of New Orleans, Kansas City and the L.A. Rams dominating the headlines, Houston's eight-game winning streak is going largely unnoticed. That is rather peculiar, but the Texans had not given many domineering performances in that span until Monday night. Still, the oddmakers only have them at -6 over an improving, yet, still losing Cleveland club and we can benefit from that with on this teaser. This takes us to the point where we just need the Texans to win the game and they are 19-1 against a teaser line versus a defensive team allowing 5.65 or more yards a play in the second half of the season.
Doesn't it fell like it was last year when Miami started 3-0 instead of this season? The Dolphins continue to mire in mediocrity and have won just two of their last eight contests. They won those games by just 3 and 7 points. We completely understand Buffalo has even a worse overall record, but they are showing signs of life and while they have been blown out plenty of times, there is improvement. With Miami a terrible 23-48 ATS as a December home favorite on any standard spread, here we can bump up the Bills past key numbers of 6, 7 and 10. The closer; the last 50 times the Fins have faced a team that averages less than 285 yards of offense, they have beaten them by 0.8 PPG.
Tennessee was not of a match for Houston and was toppled rather easily. That makes the Titans just the third-best squad in the AFC South. Even with that, Tennessee is still a better and stronger team than the New York Jets. The Flyboys gave a good accounting of themselves at home against New England but were outscored 17-3 in the second half. As mentioned almost weekly, the number in this teaser is one of our favorites, being able to cruise by 7, 6 and 3 and the only way this is a loser is if Tennessee wins on a one-point outcome. We are not too worried about that with Gang Green losing by 14.3 PPG in their last 17 road games after permitting 25 or more points in back to back encounters.
L.A. Chargers Taken from +3.5 to +9.5 against Pittsburgh
L.A. South and Pittsburgh both lost to Denver in recent weeks, ending an extended period of playing good football. On Sunday night, one of these AFC squads will fall again and questions will begin to surface. Pittsburgh is well-known as a reliable home team, but Philip Rivers is also known in betting circles as a Play On commodity. This season the Chargers are 5-1 SU on the road and they are a proven 31-14 ATS away from home in Weeks 10-13. While it is true the Steelers have been a frequent choice for teasers for us, it is impossible to ignore the Chargers are 22-1 against a teaser line in road games versus teams outscoring opponents by 6+ PPG on the year in the second half of the season.
Special Note from Author: You should know betting NFL teasers is just not about shaving or adding more points on a spread wager, it is about creating value going against key numbers. This is the real secret to beating the oddsmakers numbers.
The keys numbers we are talking about are 3, 6, 7, 10, 13 and 14. These are the most common outcomes in the NFL and if you can situate your wagers on the right side of these figures, you can dramatically enhance your chances of winning teasers.
