Predicting the RSM Classic

Webb Simpson was the runner up at the RSM Classic in 2011 an that was the year that he also won two of his five PGA Tour wins. Simpson comes in as the favorite at +800 due to his strong finish during the 2018/2019 season and finished T7 during his first outing this year. Simpson will be the player to beat on Sunday if his bag is as hot as it was towards the end of last season and his showing at the Shriners.

Charles Howell III is the defending RSM Classic champ and can become the first repeat winner at this event. And he’s been tough this season. So far in the 2019/2020 season he has a T20, T8, and T2 respectively. Howell can win his second Classic title at a course that lends itself to his style of play.

Top-Rated Online Sportsbooks are pointing to Simpson, Howell, Billy Horschel (+1400) and Matt Kuchar (+1800) with good reason. They will all be factors this week and in the hunt on Sunday. However, the RSM Classic is not an event filled with top-names which opens a PGA Tour win to a wider swath of players. Don’t be surprised if players further down the odds list such as Aaron Wise, Luke List, or Jim Furyk make a run on Saint Simons Island at Sea Island Golf Club.
