The Colorado Avalanche signed restricted free agent J.T. Compher to a four-year contract Wednesday through the 2022-23 season.

The 24-year-old forward ranked fifth on the Avalanche with 16 goals and set career highs in goals, assists (16) and points (32) in 66 games last season.

He added four goals and two assists in 12 postseason games.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but TSN reported the deal to be worth $14 million. Compher avoided a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for July 31.

Since making his NHL debut with Colorado in 2016-17, the Illinois native has tallied 60 points (32 goals, 28 assists) in 156 regular-season games.
