Montreal Canadiens defenseman Victor Mete will miss the rest of the season with a fractured foot, the team announced Wednesday.

Mete was injured when he was struck by a shot during a game against the Detroit Red Wings on Feb. 18.

The 21-year-old Mete scored 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 51 games this season.

Overall, Mete has four goals and 27 assists (31 points) in 171 games with the Canadiens over the past three seasons.

Mete was a fourth-round pick by Montreal in the 2016 draft.
