Another big surprise this season has been the Vancouver Canucks with a two-point lead over Calgary and San Jose in the Pacific Division. The Canucks are 10-6-1 (21 points) in their first 17 games.

The Predators’ current four-game run includes a 4-1 road victory against Tampa Bay on Nov. 1 as +110 underdogs. They knocked off Colorado 4-1 on Wednesday night as -125 road favorites in a game that stayed UNDER the six-goal closing line. The total has stayed UNDER in all four wins.

The Stars beat San Jose 4-3 on Thursday night as +115 home underdogs to improve to 6-2 on their home ice this season as part of an overall record of 9-6-1. They are five points in back of Nashville for the lead in the Central Division. The total went OVER 5.5 goals in Thursday win after it stayed UNDER in four of Dallas’s previous five outings.

This will be the first meeting in this season’s series after Nashville won three of four games last year. The total was evenly split 2-2 with the Predators doubling up the Stars 14-7 on the scoreboard in those four games.

Sunday, Nov. 11

Vegas Golden Knights at Boston Bruins (7 p.m. ESPN+)

After raising the bar almost as high as it can go with last season’s incredible run to the Stanley Cup Finals as an expansion team, the Golden Knights’ sophomore campaign has been a hard dose of reality at 7-8-1 through 16 games. They have won two of their last three games with Thursday’s 5-3 road victory against Ottawa as -165 favorites. This followed a 3-1 road loss against Toronto on Tuesday as +115 underdogs. Vegas is 3-6 on the road this season with the total staying UNDER in four of its last six road games.

Boston has fallen seven points off the pace in the Atlantic Division title race with three losses in its last five games heading into Saturday’s home game against Toronto. The Bruins came up short against Vancouver its last time out in an 8-5 loss at home on Thursday night as heavy -260 favorites. The total went well OVER 5.5 goals after staying UNDER in their last eight games. Boston is 8-5-2 overall with a 5-2 record on its home ice.

These two teams met twice last season with the home team winning each game. Both contests stayed UNDER a closing total line of six goals.
