The Dallas Stars will be without several players on Saturday night as they attempt to stave off elimination in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Edmonton.

Stars interim coach Rick Bowness announced on Saturday afternoon that forwards Roope Hintz, Blake Comeau and Radek Faksa, defenseman Stephen Johns and goaltender Ben Bishop are all "unfit to play." Dallas trails 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Hintz, 23, exited the Stars' 5-4 overtime loss in Game 4 on Friday following a hit from Tampa Bay forward Tyler Johnson in the second period. Hintz departed the contest after he appeared to hit the back of his head into the boards.

Hintz collected 33 points (19 goals, 14 assists) in 60 games during the regular season. He has added 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in the postseason, although he has just two assists in the Stanley Cup Final.

Comeau, 34, will miss his third consecutive contest after absorbing a hit from Tampa Bay defenseman Ryan McDonagh during Dallas' 3-2 setback in Game 2 on Monday.

Comeau recorded eight goals and as many assists in 55 games during the regular season. He has seven points (two goals, five assists) in 23 playoff games.

The absences of the other three players were expected.

Faksa has been sidelined since the Western Conference finals with an apparant hand injury and Bishop has been out for more than three weeks with an undisclosed issue. Johns also is nursing an undisclosed injury.
