The Washington Capitals assigned center Tyler Graovac to Hershey of the American Hockey League on a long-term conditioning loan, the team announced Tuesday.

Graovac sustained an upper-body injury versus the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 17. The 24-year-old Ontario native did not record a point in three games with Washington this season.

The Capitals acquired Graovac in a trade with the Minnesota Wild in June for a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NHL draft.

Graovac collected seven goals and two assists in 52 games with the Wild last season. The 6-foot-5, 212-pounder scored his first NHL goal in his 2016-17 season debut on Oct. 29 against the Dallas Stars and recorded his first assist on Feb. 27 versus the Los Angeles Kings.

Graovac was drafted by Minnesota in the seventh round in 2011.
