The New York Rangers avoided arbitration with Ryan Strome by agreeing on a two-year, $9 million with the center, according to multiple reports on Thursday.

Strome, 27, will reportedly receive $4 million this season and $5 million for the 2021-22 campaign.

Strome established career bests for points (59) and assists (41) last season. He also scored 18 goals -- one shy of his career high -- while playing in 70 games.

Strome has scored 36 goals in two seasons with the Rangers.

Overall, he has 95 goals and 159 assists (254 points) in 491 games in seven seasons with the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers and Rangers.
