James Hinchcliffe's bad luck at Indianapolis Motor Speedway continued on Saturday.

The Canadian Indy series regular nearly flipped his car during a qualifying run, leaving him shaken and without a place in the lineup for the Indianapolis 500.

"The car was on the edge for sure. ... Something just caught me in [Turn] 2," Hinchcliffe, 32, said, per NBC Sports.

"... Pretty much our nightmare."

The Twitter account for the series reported afterward that Hinchcliffe had been checked out and cleared.

Hinchcliffe, who gets one last chance to qualify on Sunday, missed the race last year when he failed to qualify. He'll be part of a group of six drivers vying for the remaining three spots in the last-minute shootout qualifying.

In 2015, Hinchcliffe suffered a season-ending injury in a crash during practice.
