The Columbus Crew traded goalkeeper Jon Kempin to D.C. United on Friday in exchange for their third-round pick in the 2021 MLS draft.
The Crew also signed GK Eric Dick after selecting him in Stage 2 of last year's re-entry draft.
Kempin was the Crew's third-string keeper last season. He's played in 22 regular season games (21 starts) in his 10-year career.
"Jon has 11 years of professional experience and it will be an important element to add to our roster ahead of the 2021 season," Dave Kasper, D.C. United general manager and VP of soccer operations, said in a release. "We are looking forward to giving Jon a fresh start in MLS and an opportunity to compete with our other goalkeepers."
Dick spent last season on loan at Phoenix Rising in the USL Championship.
