The New Jersey Devils re-signed center Pavel Zacha to a three-year, $6.75 million contract on Tuesday, ending speculation that the restricted free agent might bolt for the KHL.
Zacha, 22, scored a career-high 13 goals and added 12 assists in 61 games with the Devils in 2018-19.
New Jersey's first-round draft pick (sixth overall) in 2015, Zacha has 76 points (29 goals, 47 assists) in 201 career NHL games.
"We are happy to have finalized this three-year agreement as Pavel is an important part of our team," Devils general manager Ray Shero said in a statement. "He has established himself as someone who can play in any situation and we are looking forward to his continued growth as a player."
The signing came one day after reports surfaced that Zacha had agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Avangard of the Russia-based KHL.
The Devils, coming off an eighth-place division finish last season, open training camp on Friday.
