The San Jose Earthquakes declined 2019 contract options on midfielder Jahmir Hyka and defender Yeferson Quintana on Thursday, the team announced.

San Jose also declined options on midfielder Chris Wehan and forwards Danny Musovski and Mohamed Thiaw.

Hyka recorded six goals and five assists in 49 matches (32 starts) over two seasons with the club. Quintana had one goal and one assist in 13 games (10 starts) in 2018.

The Earthquakes picked up 2019 options on the following five players: goalkeeper Matt Bersano and defenders Harold Cummings, Paul Marie, Jimmy Ockford and Kevin Partida.
