Twelve months after being traded to DC United, goalkeeper David Ousted is on the move again.
The Chicago Fire announced on Sunday that they have claimed Ousted off waivers from DC United.
In a related move, the Fire placed defender Nicolas Del Grecco on waivers. Del Grecco, 25, had been occupying an international roster slot.
Ousted, who turns 34 next month, is signed through the 2019 season at least, with his contract including a club option for the 2020 season.
Ousted has made 159 MLS appearances with 42 shutouts over six MLS seasons. Last season with DC United, the Danish keeper went 4-7-6 in 17 starts.
He has a career record of 59-56-43 and was a finalist for MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2015.
The Fire are coming off a difficult season in which they finished 10th in the Eastern Conference, allowing 61 goals -- third most in the conference.
