The Colorado Rapids re-signed midfielder Nicolas Mezquida and goalkeeper Andre Rawls to two-year contracts Monday.
"We are delighted to welcome back Nico and Andre," Rapids general manager Padraig Smith said in a club statement. "Nico enjoyed a strong and productive first season with us ... while Andre continued to show his quality in goal. ... The two will reinforce our roster in key areas as we continue to build for 2020 and beyond."
Mezquida, 27, tallied four goals and was second on the team with six assists in 32 appearances in 2019.
The Uruguay native was traded to Colorado on Dec. 9, 2018, from Vancouver, where he registered 12 goals and four assists in 101 games with the Whitecaps from 2014-18.
Rawls, 27, spent the 2019 season on loan with the Rapids' USL affiliate, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. He posted six clean sheets in 15 starts.
Rawls spent the previous three seasons with New York City FC, but has yet to make his MLS debut.
