Brazilian striker Sergio Santos is reportedly close to agreeing to a deal with the Philadelphia Union, according to a published report out of Chile.
The 24-year-old scored nine goals for Chilean club Audax Italiano this season. He has 19 goals in 74 appearances (42 starts) over five seasons with the club.
Santos reportedly told a radio station in Chile that he was leaving Audax Italiano and chose the Union over Mexican side Necaxa.
"They came to see me and sat down to talk to me, Necaxa only spoke to me on the phone," Santos told El Grafico of Chile. "I noticed that the United States was more personal, which is a nice possibility for my family."
