U.S. Men's National Team assistant coach Josh Wolff will reportedly be named the first head coach of the 2021 MLS expansion club Austin FC.

The Athletic said Monday that the move is "widely expected," citing multiple sources.

An Austin FC spokesperson declined to comment on the report.

Wolff, 42, served as an assistant coach with the Columbus Crew (2013-18) and D.C. United (2012-13) after ending his MLS playing career in 2012.

A standout striker, Wolff made 52 appearances for the U.S. and was a member of the 2002 and 2006 World Cup teams.
