Golden Boot winner Carlos Vela and two other Los Angeles FC standouts were named to the 2019 MLS Best XI on Tuesday.

Vela, midfielder Eduard Atuesta and defender Walker Zimmerman helped LAFC set a new league record for points (21-4-9, 72 points) and goal differential (plus-48) en route to picking up the Supporters' Shield.

Vela scored a league-record 34 goals and added 15 assists. Atuesta added three goals and 11 assists. Zimmerman anchored a defense that conceded the fewest goals (37) in the league.

Joining Vela up front are LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic (30 goals) and Atlanta United's Jose Martinez (27 goals).

Rounding out the midfield are the New England Revolution's Carles Gil (10 goals, 14 assists), Maxi Moralez of New York City FC (league-high 20 assists) and Toronto FC's Alejandro Pozuelo (12 goals, 12 assists.

MLS Defender of the Year Ike Opara of Minnesota United and Atlanta's Miles Robinson join Zimmerman on the back line.

Between the sticks is MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Vito Mannone of Minnesota, who was second in the league in saves (129) and registered 11 shutouts.
