The Vancouver Whitecaps signed midfielder/forward Yordy Reyna to a new contract and extended midfielder Felipe's deal, the club announced Tuesday.
Vancouver used Targeted Allocation Money to sign Reyna for 2019 with options for each of the following two seasons. Felipe was extended through 2020 with an option for 2021.
The 25-year-old Reyna had six goals and 11 assists in 26 matches (21 starts) last year in his second season with the Whitecaps. The Peruvian has 12 goals and 15 assists in 44 appearances (32 starts).
"Yordy has shown that he has qualities that are important for our club," Vancouver coach Marc Dos Santos said in a statement. "He's fast, direct, and has the ability to create chances for himself and others while playing different roles in the attack. We believe he can still become even better."
The Brazilian-born Felipe, 28, had one goal and seven assists in 29 matches (24 starts) last year in his first season in Vancouver.
"For me this means a lot, because this club wants me to stay," Felipe said in a statement. "Canada has always made my family feel at home, my son was born here, and we hope to be in Vancouver for a long time. I want to help the club make history and do something special. I'm here to win."
Felipe has 23 goals and 48 assists in 222 matches (210 starts) with the Montreal Impact (2012-14), New York Red Bulls (2015-17) and Whitecaps.
