Christian Pulisic, the 20-year-old star of the U.S. men's national team, reportedly is set to join Chelsea FC next summer.
According to German publication Bild, Pulisic will move to Chelsea in the English Premier League from Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga for 50 million euros ($57 million or 45 million pounds).
English clubs Liverpool and Arsenal also were reportedly interested in the Hershey, Pa., native. Per the Mirror of London, Liverpool made an initial bid of 45 million pounds, and Arsenal's opening bid was 35 million.
Pulisic got off to an impressive start with Dortmund the previous two seasons, but this season he has lost his starting spot as a winger to 18-year-old Englishman Jadon Sancho.
With Pulisic playing a supporting role, Dortmund is the midseason leader in Germany's top division.
Pulisic broke into the U.S. national team in 2016 at age 17, and he soon became the youngest player to score for the country in the modern era.
In 23 games with the national squad, Pulisic has nine goals, but he was a key member of the squad that failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
