The Iowa Hawkeyes will be a contender in March! This team does all of the little things right. They shoot 48.8% from the field, they grab 41.6 rebounds per game, they pour in 21.3 assists per game, and they average 6.8 steals per game. The best number of all, 91.9 points per game! 91 point is a lot of points for any college basketball team, Iowa is finding themselves in company with teams such as Gonzaga and Duke. These guys are the real deal, and they are good enough to win out. We are not saying they will win out, but they have the potential.
Garza is having a monster year with 27.6 points per game and 62.7% shooting from the field, and 8.2 rebounds per game. He is the leader of this run and gun offense, and everything goes through the middle. Northwestern comes in having lost four in a row, but we have to acknowledge the teams’ ridiculous schedule. Their four straight losses have come against OSU, ILL, MICH, and Iowa.
The only good news in any of the four losses was on the 13th against OSU where they lost by 10- points. The rest of the losses were blowouts. Going back five games tells a different story against OSU with a 70-74 win. OSU is coming off a win in Illinois. The last four losses can only be explained by inconsistency against teams that matter in a very tough conference.
As much as we love Iowa, we are not going to hang our wallets on -10. If this game was being played in Iowa, then we probably lay the points. Our suggestion is to steer clear of the spread and ride the over 157. Both teams will push the score and this game should hit the 160s or 170s.

Unlike the Iowa Northwestern game, this one could be a slow grind and defense will be the talk of the game. These two teams will play small, pass smart, look for the open man, and before you know it, 5-minutes wound down with a bucket or two. We have to like the under 129.5, and although UCF is struggling as they come into today’s game with three straight losses, those losses came by way of TEM, USF, and Houston. They lost the first matchup to Houston by 9- points. Going back to December 22nd, UCF beat Cincinnati, and FSU on the 19th. UCF hangs around and keeps the total under.
