NFL Week 1 Over/Under Predictions
You don’t always need to bet against the spread, NFL totals can present great value to.
Here are my top three NFL week 1 total picks to kick-off the 2020 NFL regular season.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Football Team Picks
Kick-Off: Sunday, September 13th 2020 at 1:00 PM ET
Odds: PHI –6.5 (-105) / Total: 43 Points
The game total in this game opened up at 45.5 points, but has been bet down to 43 points.
Could the line drop another point before kick-off? It’s unlikely to, but I also don’t see this O/U going back up either, so there’s little risk waiting until Sunday to place a bet on the over.

Why am I betting on over in Philadelphia-Washington?
For one, the Eagles have dominated their NFC East rival. Since 2017, the Eagles are 6-0 (5-1 ATS) in games against Washington. They scored 30, 34, 28, 24, 32 and 37 in those games.
The over/under is only 3-3 since 2017, but both head-to-head games went over the total last year.
In the first game, the total was 44 points and there were 59 points scored (+15 margin) and in the second game, the total was only 38 points and there were 64 points scored (+26 margin).

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints Picks
Kick-Off: Sunday, September 13th 2020 at 4:25 PM ET
Odds: NO –3.5 (-110) / Total: 49.5 Points (-105)
Here’s another over/under that has seen NFL week 1 line movement since opening. The game total opened up at 50.5 points, but has been bet down to 49.5 points, which is surprising to me.
The over is 12-2 in the Buccaneers last 14 games. Now, I don’t expect that trend to remain as strong in 2020 because Jameis Winston isn’t going to be throwing multiple INTs every game anymore.
Opposing teams are going to have to work harder to score points, but in week 1, TB are playing NO, one of the top offensive teams in the NFL. Drew Brees has typically dominated the Buccaneers defense.
Four of the last five head-to-head meetings have gone over the total and those four games all had 50+ points scored. The over is also 5-2 in the last five H2H games in New Orleans.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Rams Picks
Kick-Off: Sunday, September 13th 2020 at 8:20 PM ET
Odds: Cowboys –3 (-110) / Total: 52 Points (-110)
The Dallas Cowboys and Rams are two teams that put up a lot of points when they play each other.
These teams have played each other three times since 2017. All three games went over the total by a large margin. Last year, these teams met and the Cowboys won 44-21 at home.
Dallas are going to have one of the best offenses in the league. The Rams will have a strong air attack in 2020 and if they’re playing behind in this one, we should see plenty of scoring.
