As we all prepare for an exciting Week 1, here’s a look at Coach Rick’s top three NFL Week 1 picks.

New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills Week 1 Picks

When Tom Brady left New England, the Bills became the favorite to dethrone the Patriots as AFC East champion. Buffalo will begin its quest for a division title against the Jets. Bills QB Josh Allen has a new receiver to throw to in Stefon Diggs. That should be a boost for the offense.

Buffalo’s running game was eighth-best in the league last year (128.4 YPG) and the defense was third in total defense (298.3 ypg) and second in points allowed per game (16.2).

The Jets are a team in disarray. After signing RB Le’Veon Bell last year, the Jets finished 31st in rushing yards per game (78.6). Bell and Jets head coach Adam Gase had some issues over a training camp injury.

The Jets’ offense was not good last year – 31st in points per game – and it is not expected to be all that much better in 2020. Playing at home on opening day, watch as the Bills win big and cover.

Best Bet: Buffalo Bills -6 (-110)

NFL Comeback Player of the Year and Coach of the Year Picks 2020

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals Week 1 Picks

Both the Chargers and the Bengals will break in new quarterbacks in 2020. The difference is that L.A. will have veteran Tyrod Taylor under center while the Bengals will go with their No. 1 draft pick Joe Burrow.

Taylor is a journeyman that has started games in Buffalo and Cleveland and served as a backup for four seasons in Baltimore. He is capable, but in an offense that no longer has Melvin Gordon at running back don’t expect much production from the Chargers.

On the other side, rookie quarterbacks struggle. Burrow is good, but he will not have had the opportunity to play a preseason game since those games were cancelled due to the coronavirus.

Burrow’s running back, Joe Mixon, is banged up, but should be good to go by game time. Burrow will have some weapons, but he’ll face a fairly stout Chargers defense that features pass rushers Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram III.

Coach Rick just doesn’t see these two teams erupting for a lot of points, which is why Under 44 looks like a winner.

Bookies can offer a number of other bets on this game too when using PayPerHead.com as their PPH service. In addition to betting on totals, spreads, and the moneyline; you can offer quarters and halves betting as well as a number of NFL futures bets through PayPerHead.com.

Best Bet: Under 44 Points (-110)

Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Week 1 Picks

The Colts will have new QB Philip Rivers to lead an offense that loves to run the football. Marlon Mack went over 1,000 yards last year and Indy adds rookie Jonathan Taylor to the backfield.

The Colts will travel to Jacksonville to face their division rival. Surprisingly, the Jags have beaten the Colts five straight times when playing in Jacksonville. That includes last year’s 38-20 win at the end of the season.

Yes, the Jags are rebuilding. They have purged Leonard Fournette and Yannick Ngakoue from the roster. QB Gardner Minshew can get the job done. He’ll have to rely on some rookies for help though. One is wide receiver Dede Westbrook.

At home in the heat in Jacksonville, Coach Rick doesn’t see the Colts as 7.5 points better than the Jags. Jacksonville may not win, but they will cover.
