Dota 2 BTS Pro Series Season 3 Americas Preview

The Dota 2 Beyond the Summit (BTS) Pro Series Season 3: Americas will begin tomorrow (Monday, September 7th 2020) and will conclude on Tuesday, September 22nd 2020.

Nine teams were invited to the event, while one team will win a spot through an open qualifier.

The open qualifier is currently running, but the final isn’t until later tonight, so we still don’t know what team will qualify. In fact, the semifinals just started at 4:00 PM ET.

Infinity Esports play the EgoBoys and Doze Reborn play SandBlood.

You can watch these two Dota 2 semifinals directly on our live streaming eSports platform.

BTS Pro Series Season 3 Invited Teams

Here are the eight confirmed teams that were invited to play in the Dota 2 tournament:

4 Zoomers

CR4ZY

business associates

Thunder Predator

beastcoast

Infamous

Havan Liberty

Team Brasil

So far there are three North American and five South American teams confirmed.

The ninth invitation spot hasn’t been confirmed at the time of publishing.

Quincy Crew may not be competing. Jack Chen, the Dota manager for Quincy Crew posted that QC aren’t 100% sure if they’re playing yet on Thursday and there hasn’t been an update yet.

Another team notably absent are the Evil Geniuses. Evil Geniuses won the first season of the BTS Pro Series and Quincy Crew won the second season, so we could be crowning a new champion.

Quincy Crew would have been the easy pick if they were competing.

QC have won the last six Dota 2 events that they’ve played in. They just won ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas by dominating Thunder Predator (3:0) in the finals.

If QC and Evil Geniuses don’t compete in the Dota 2 BTS Pro Series Season 3 that would leave things a lot more wide open than the first two seasons. Thunder Predator are my pick to win.

Apart from their recent second place finish at ESL One Thailand 2020, Thunder Predator won the tier 3 Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Season 5 and finished 2nd in the tier 2 OGA Dota PIT S2: Americas.

They lost to Quincy Crew in that tournament as well.

I’m sure Thunder Predator will be looking for that first place money if QC opt to not compete.
